New South Wales win CLT20 Trophy
Australia, New South Wales, News, Trinidad & Tobago | October 23, 2009 at 1:57 pmIt was a thoroughly clinical and professional performance by the New South Wales Blues. In a contest between flair and professionalism, the latter came up trumps tonight. And it was all about one man, Brett Lee. He did the job with the bat, he got the first break through and if that was not enough, he was responsible to drive the final nail in the TT coffin when his catch ended Pollard’s stay in the crease. NSW rejoice but spare a thought for the most entertaining team of this tournament, Trinidad and Tobago.
Simon Katich is the captain of the All Star Team
Brett Lee: I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to Trinidad and Tobago for providing some excellent competition through the series. “Shukriya” to the crowd for their love and support. I just tried to stick around for a while when I came out to bat and then look for boundaries. We were looking at at least 140 to defend and we got more than that.
Brett Lee is the Man of the Series as well for performing on the big day
Keiron Pollard: Well played to New South Wales. I think, they were the better team tonight.
Keiron Pollard gets the maximum sixes award
Brett Lee is the Man of the Match for his all round performance
Losing semi finalists Victoria Bushrangers and Cape Cobras get the heavy cash prize of USD 500,000
Darren Ganga collects the cheque of USD 1,300,000
Final Scores:
New South Wales: 159/9 (20.0 Ovs)
Trinidad and Tobago: 118-all out (15.5 Ovs)
Result: New South Wales won by 41 runs
